Vision and Mission
The Singapore Sinhala Association’s Youth Wing was formed with the aim of promoting and encouraging activities among the young Sinhala, fostering appreciation of Sinhala culture and its traditions among young Sinhala and groom them to be future leaders in the community.
Projects and Activities
Youth wing projects and activities aim to have an impact far beyond material achievements. The projects and activities are committed to build relationships between individuals and communities that transcend traditional boundaries of ethnicity, race, nationality or religion. The Youth Wing Projects combine community development and youth development, encouraging young people to engage with the communities around them while creating a fun-filled and fulfilling environment.
Management Committee
Youth Wing Management Committee comprises of members from all walks of life up to the age of 35 years. The Management Committee members support youth within the community, by helping place youth in activities that interest them and give them worthwhile skills and life experience. These individuals provide invaluable service, not only through direct volunteering activities but as leaders and sub-committee members of Singapore Sinhala Association.
Your Role
- As a youth wing member who will actively engage in its activities, you will begin to develop within you a spirit of volunteerism which will hold you in good stead for your future life, to be selfless and to be caring for others.
- By interacting with other community groups in mutually beneficial programs, one begins to transcend racial and religious barriers for the common good of all.
- One of the greatest advantages of being a youth wing member will be the appreciation of the sinhala culture and traditions that have endured the test of time for more than 2000 years.
